The Foundations Section of this Website will explain important themes, timelines, prophecies and events in the unfolding history of humanity on earth. The Bible does not tell all of earth's history, but rather focuses on God's plan for humanity and His relationship with us from the time of our creation in His image, the break in our relationship with Him, the unraveling that our sin caused and continues to cause in everything, and His plan through the death, resurrection and return of Jesus Christ to restore all that was broken.
The posts entitled 7 Year Prophecy and Time Gap in Daniel's Prophecy explain the foundational prophecy in the book of Daniel in the Bible that gives the original Seven Year timeline before the Second Coming of Jesus to earth. It is a part of a larger prophecy with a 490 timeline, that had a break because of the murder of Jesus Christ, his resurrection and His commission of His followers to tell the world about eternal life in Him. This Great Commission has been going on for the past 2,000 years, and millions of people have come to trust in Jesus Christ as their Savior from their sins. He came to make the way for people to be restored in their relationship with God, to be assured to go to heaven after they die, and to one day be a part of His Kingdom on earth when He returns to restore it all to the beauty of its original design.
The Fig Tree Prophecy, 300 Prophecies and Isaiah 53 Prophecy explain many very important prophecies in the Bible - some that have already come true in the past, and some that are yet to be fulfilled when Jesus returns. They are included on this website as part of an important foundational understanding of how prophecy in the Bible proves both that the Bible is true, and that it comes from a Supernatural Source. God is outside of the time and space parameters that constrain us, so He knows what's coming in the future, and He loves us, so He has chosen to reveal the future to us.
Jesus Himself said, "From now on I am telling you before it happens, so that when it does happen, you may believe that I am He." John 13:19. When Jesus said 'I am' as He did repeatedly throughout His ministry during His first coming, He was using the name I AM that the Jewish people of the day knew was God's designated name for Himself. God is the ever-existing one. Jesus was saying that He was and is God, and for that reason He could tell people the future. Because Jesus fulfilled over 300 previous prophecies in the Bible in His own life, and He is God - the I AM, we can trust that what He says is coming in the future for humanity, and for you and I, will happen just like He said.
The remaining posts in the Foundations Section will discuss the nature of prophecy and the overall events of history that are covered in the Bible. They are imperative to our understanding of who we are, why we are here, and what is to come.
The most foundational understanding of all is why Jesus came, and how He promises eternal life to each person who puts their trust in Him. Please read the post "Hope in the Dark" if you want to know how to begin a personal relationship with God who loves you and wants to spend eternity with you. Jesus said, "I AM the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through Me." John 14:6. He also said, "I AM the resurrection and the life; the one who believes in Me will live, even if he dies" John 11:25. Those who believe Jesus died for their sins and rose again, will receive His forgiveness and eternal life in heaven after they die. And one day, when this age is over, those who believe in Him will live with Him in His 1,000 Year Kingdom on earth and the New Heavens and New Earth that follow for eternity.
